Cloud Shell is a browser-based terminal in the Nebius AI Cloud web console. It provides a sandboxed Ubuntu environment with the Nebius AI Cloud CLI, Terraform, Git and Python preinstalled. The CLI is authenticated with your user account, so you can run commands without installing or configuring it locally. The resources that you create are billed as usual. Use Cloud Shell to try the Nebius AI Cloud CLI, follow documentation tutorials or perform one-off CLI tasks without creating a virtual machine (VM) or setting up SSH keys. Cloud Shell is in preview and is available in all Nebius AI Cloud regions.

Working in Cloud Shell

  1. On any page of the web console, click .
  2. Get the ID of the project that you want to work in, and set the project in the CLI configuration:
  3. Run commands in the terminal. For example, run the CLI command for a VM, disk or serverless job that you configure in the web console: on its creation page, click View code and copy the command.

Limitations

Cloud Shell has the following limitations:
  • Sessions are temporary and can run for up to one hour. When a session ends, local files are removed and running processes are stopped. Changes that you make to Nebius AI Cloud resources persist.
  • The preinstalled Nebius AI Cloud CLI can lag behind the latest release. To install the latest version, run nebius update.
