# Terms of Use - Disks

This document contains specific terms of use of Compute Cloud ("Service") and is an integral part of Nebius Services Agreement ("Agreement") and Service Terms set forth at [https://docs.nebius.com/legal/service-terms](https://docs.nebius.com/legal/service-terms). Capitalized terms used herein but not defined herein shall have the meanings set forth in Agreement and Linked Documents.

## 1. Functional Features of the Service

1.1. Nebius provides Customer with two types of Disks: (a) network-attached (Network SSD Disk) and (b) local (Local SSD Disk). The Service enables Customer to store Customer Data on Disks and to create, attach, and manage Disks, as well as to use other functional features of the Service as described in Documentation on Site.

1.2. Customer may: (a) create a Disk in a Region selected by Customer; (b) select the Disk type according to Customer's requirements; (c) attach a Disk to one Virtual Machine at a time, provided the Virtual Machine belongs to the same Region as the Disk; (d) mount an attached Disk on a Virtual Machine to access it; (e) use other functional features of the Service, which Nebius makes available to Customer. Functional features of the Service are described in Documentation on Site.

1.3. Service Level for the Service is determined in SLA. Service Level does not apply uniformly across Disk types - see Section 4 for Network SSD Non-replicated Disks and Section 5 for Local Disk.

## 2. Pricing

2.1. The use of the Service is chargeable.

2.2. Service Fee and billing units are determined in the Management Console.

2.3. Service Fee for a Disk depends on usage time (from Disk creation to Disk deletion) and the allocated Disk capacity. The usage of a Disk is charged regardless of whether the Virtual Machine it is attached to is running.

2.4. Local Disks are included in the price of some presets; where not included, they are billed under a separate Local SSD Disk Service Rate.

2.5. Nebius may from time to time provide Customer with additional functional features of the Service for an additional fee.

## 3. Limitations

3.1. Customer shall not include Personal Data, Confidential Information, or other sensitive information in Disk names, resource identifiers, tags, labels, or other resource metadata. Customer acknowledges that such metadata may be visible in logs, billing records, API responses, and management interfaces and may not be subject to the same security controls as data stored within a Disk.

3.2. Once Customer deletes a Disk or any data within it, such data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered by Nebius.

## 4. Network Disk Specific Limitations

4.1. Network SSD Non-replicated (NRD) Disks have no redundancy or replication - as described in Documentation. It is not recommended to store persistent data on NRD Disks.

## 5. Local Disk Specific Limitations

5.1. Local Disks are offered in a fixed configuration depending on the preset and cannot be added or resized after Virtual Machine creation.

5.2. Local Disks are not managed as a separate storage resource and cannot be detached, reattached, or mounted on any Virtual Machine other than the one they were created with.

5.3. Data on Local Disks is lost on Virtual Machine stop, deletion, rescheduling, or host or Disk failure. This is expected behavior and is not covered by SLA.

5.4. Local Disks are not encrypted at rest by default. Customer is responsible for applying application-level encryption where required by its use case and must not store data that cannot be recreated.

## 6. Definitions

**Disk** means a Network SSD Disk or a Local SSD Disk.

**Local SSD Disk** means an ephemeral NVMe Disk physically attached to the compute host running the Virtual Machine.

**Network SSD Disk** means a Disk that is connected to a Virtual Machine over the network, allowing the Disk to persist independently of the Virtual Machine's lifecycle.
